Little Dragon Mandarin After School
Little Dragon Mandarin After School focuses on Chinese literacy, reading, classics, music, and spoken expression. Through rich, engaging classes, children build interest in Chinese and a foundation for reading in a relaxed setting.
Hours are flexible Monday to Friday. Families may choose 1–3 single classes each week, or the Monday-to-Friday combined after-school program. The combined program mixes the courses below based on the child’s age and Chinese level. Single classes can also be chosen on their own.
Through classic poems, introductory Chinese literature, and joyful recitation, children learn characters, writing, and standard Mandarin while understanding the poems. They do more than memorize — they grasp meaning, feel the rhythm of Chinese, and meet traditional culture.
Leveled reading is the main path, from early characters to independent reading. Lessons combine character origins, how characters are formed, and reading comprehension, so children grow their character bank, build a reading habit, and move from recognizing words to reading on their own.
Classic picture books, nursery rhymes, music, instruments, and creative activities come together. Children listen to stories, sing, and move while learning Chinese words and expression. Focus, spoken language, and reading interest grow naturally through music and story.
Chinese texts, vocabulary, and sentence patterns are set to song. Through listening, speaking, singing, reading, and performing, children remember Chinese more easily. Especially good for children who love music and performance — they grow vocabulary, feel the language, and build a path to independent Chinese reading.
Class time: 4:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Families may choose single classes, or the Monday-to-Friday combined after-school program.
Families who live near the school area may arrange after-school pickup when it works for the day’s schedule, so parents have more flexibility.
Pickup: $100 / 10 trips
